Batista offered major WWE star a key role in his upcoming film
Dave Bautista might have retired from WWE, but The Animal holds professional wrestling near and dear to his heart. Drew McIntyre recently recalled how he was offered a role by Batista because he fit the description.
Earlier this year, the trailer for Dave Bautista's next film, The Killer's Game, was released. The film also features Drew McIntyre in a pivotal role as he plays a Scottish hitman who looks to hunt down The Animal after Batista puts a bounty on himself.
During an appearance on Irish Wrestling & Entertainment, the two-time WWE Champion detailed how Dave Bautista offered him the chance to play the part, as he perfectly fits the description.
"Dave [Bautista] called me and asked me if I wanted to be a part of it. I believe a conversation with the director came up looking for a couple of characters, who are hitmen. We needed somebody who looked like he could physically take on Dave and who's Scottish and sometimes unintelligent when he talks with a bit of comedic side. And Dave says I know that guy; he actually exists, he's called Drew [McIntyre]," McIntyre said. [2:25 - 2:55]

The movie is set to release in September 2024. The Scottish Warrior is making his debut on the big screen with a fellow World Champion at the Stamford-based promotion.
Drew McIntyre recently quit WWE on Monday Night RAW
Earlier this year, Drew McIntyre's future with WWE was one of the biggest questions heading into WrestleMania XL in Philadelphia, as the star had not signed a new deal with the Stamford-based promotion.
Later, it was revealed that The Chosen One decided to stay with WWE. Sadly, the star's run on Monday Night RAW wasn't going anywhere as The Straight Edge Superstar was costing him opportunities on the brand.
Earlier this month, The Second City Saint flew to Scotland and cost Drew McIntyre in the main event. The 39-year-old star was devastated, as he had almost defeated Damian Priest before CM Punk's interference as the official.
On Monday Night RAW after the event, Drew McIntyre came out and quit WWE. Adam Pearce and Triple H tried to reason with the star, but he left the building and deactivated his social media.
