Bayley makes unusual request to former WWE Women’s Champion
Bayley is the current WWE Women's Championship on Friday Night SmackDown. Earlier today on Instagram, the Role Model commented on absent WWE star Carmella's new post showing off her wardrobe. The champion immediately got her response, too.
Since winning the title at WrestleMania XL, the upcoming championship defense marks only the third Bayley has had to make. The Role Model retained against Naomi once, albeit the bout ended in a no-contest thanks to Tiffany Stratton's interference. She later put her title on the line in a winning effort against both women in a Triple Threat match at Backlash in Lyon, France.
Meanwhile, Carmella has been out of action on maternity leave from February 2023 onwards. On Instagram, Carmella was seen in various outfits. She added in the caption that those were the ones she put on during the Spring. Bayley responded by taking a subtle jab at the former Women's Champion.
"Can you just do your string trick for me. It’s the only reason I follow you," wrote Bayley.

Carmella's real-life husband, WWE color commentator Corey Graves, spoke extensively about her during WrestleMania season. He revealed that she was thriving in her "motherhood era" with their firstborn child, Dimitri. This is something the former Women's Champion had told fans earlier also and that she was going to take her own sweet time before stepping back inside the squared circle.
WWE Clash at the Castle: Scotland is a "full-circle moment" for Bayley's challenger
Piper Niven has previously held the Women's Tag Team Championship alongside Chelsea Green. The two women joined forces after Green's former tag team partner, Sonya Deville, got sidelined with injuries. Chelsea recently predicted that both of them would accomplish big things in the coming months.
During a recent interview with PWInsider, Niven disclosed that she has already performed in the OVO Hydro arena in Glasgow, Scotland with ICW, thus making the upcoming WWE match a full-circle moment for her.
"It’s going to be a real full circle moment, because I have performed in the Hydro before with Insane Championship Wrestling. We did Fear and Loathing there. I think it was 2019 and it’s certainly going to feel a bit different. I’d always hoped and dreamed, that one day I’d be wrestling for WWE in front of my home country and now, it’s actually happening," Piper said.
Piper Niven was involved in a high-profile world title contest against Becky Lynch once but it did not bear any fruit. Could this be the time for the Scot to win her first world title in front of her home fans in Glasgow at the upcoming PLE? We will find out in a week's time.
