"Because that's how good she is" - Shawn Michaels blasted by 18-time WWE champion for major mistake with Giulia debut
Giulia's WWE debut at NXT No Mercy has been making headlines all around the world. The surprising appearance from the former NJPW star and instant confrontation with the NXT Women's Champion has excited fans for the future of the women's roster.
Both Giulia and Roxanne Perez came face to face on WWE NXT this week. However, a main roster talent also made an appearance with them. Chelsea Green came out first to challenge Perez for a match but was then interrupted by Giulia who will now face the champion on NXT's CW premiere.
WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray spotted a big mistake in the segment. In a recent episode of Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray blasted Shawn Michaels for putting Chelsea Green in the segment, because she overshadowed everyone. The 18-time champion stated that Green was the star of the segment, and it was impossible for anyone to outshine her.
"I have never felt that any main roster talent has come to NXT and overshadowed because I know exactly why they’re there. They're there to enhance the roster, they’re there to give the rub, they’re there to help the other talent. Now, I never play Monday Morning Quarterback, but this is Monday Morning Quarterback because normally I pride myself in being able to see beforehand instead of after. But this is a total Monday Morning Quarterback comment I’m about to make."
He continued:
"I don’t know if I put Chelsea Green in that segment last night because Chelsea Green completely outshined everybody in that segment last night. You could sit here and you could tell me how much you love Roxanne Perez or how great Giulia is, but Chelsea Green was the star of the show in that segment last night. It’s almost impossible for Chelsea Green not to be the star of a segment because that’s how good she is," said Ray. [11:00 onwards]
WWE impressed with Roxanne Perez's heel run
Roxanne Perez has scored a number of impressive victories and astonished millions around the world with her performances as a heel over the past few months. As per a report from Fightful Select, WWE is impressed with the NXT Women's Champion and her run as a heel.
Giulia challenged Perez for a title match at NXT's CW Premiere on October 1. While the match is yet to be confirmed, the WWE Universe has expressed their excitement for the idea. Fans will have to wait and see if both women get to battle it out at the show.
