"Before she retires" - Legendary former champion called out for one more match; Sareee ready to throw down 842 days after last WWE match
Former WWE Superstar Sareee, also known as Sarray, recently called out a legendary name for one more bout before her retirement. The legend referred to is former NXT UK Women's Champion Meiko Satomura.
Satomura is one of the biggest names to ever step inside the squared circle in Japan. The star joined World Wrestling Entertainment in 2020 and started performing for the company's developmental territory in the United Kingdom, where she won the NXT UK Women's Championship. According to several reports, the legend is still signed with the Stamford-based promotion as a coach.
Meanwhile, Sareee also started her career with WWE in 2020. However, her last match came against Mandy Rose on the August 2, 2022 edition of NXT and she left the company in March 2023.
Meiko Satomura recently announced that she would hang up her boots in 2025. Since this announcement, many stars have challenged the legend to a match.
The latest name on this list is Sareee. During a recent interview with Fightful, the former WWE star mentioned that Meiko Satomura was her debut opponent before signing with the Stamford-based promotion.
Sarray also mentioned that she wasn't able to go head-to-head with Satomura in NXT but wishes to face the legend before she retires in 2025.
"I have always been following her regardless of her retirement announcement. I feel very excited. She was my debut opponent before I left for WWE, and even during WWE for NXT UK but that never happened. So I definitely want to face her in a singles match for sure. I will try my best to make this happen before she retires. That NXT UK title match which never happened has always been in the back of my head since and I just need to make this singles match happen before she retires." [H/T Fightful]
