"Best part of the show" - WWE needs to put Women's Title on Chelsea Green, says former writer (Exclusive)

Chelsea Green appears to have turned a large section of the WWE Universe into her fans. She is a "huge babyface" just waiting for the right opportunity, believes former WWE writer Vince Russo.

Green was featured on Friday Night SmackDown in a new promo system the company has introduced. This was a set-up for a "Dumpster" Match between her and Michin. The bout is set of October 4 edition of SmackDown ahead of Bad Blood Premium Live Event.

Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's BroDown on Backstage Pass, Vince Russo praised the former Women's Tag Team Champion, stating that her segment was his favorite part of the show. The veteran also feels she has earned herself a run as WWE Women's Champion:

"The best part of the show, bro," Russo began. "I love Chelsea Green. I've made that known. I am a Chelsea Green mark. She clearly, clearly gets it. If you put that freaking belt [Women's Title] on Chelsea Green, and they don't even have her in the picture, she would get over as a huge babyface, bro." [From 39:24 to 39:49]

She was clearly the favorite to win this year's Money in the Bank in July. However, Tiffany Stratton won the match after she threw Green off a ladder through the tables outside the ring. Whether WWE finally decides to pull the trigger on Chelsea bears watching.
