Beth Phoenix shares heartbreaking update; 3-time champion reacts
Beth Phoenix took to social media to share a heartbreaking update following Hurricane Helene in North Carolina. Phoenix's contract with WWE expired earlier this year.
The Glamazon lives in Asheville, North Carolina, with her husband, AEW's Adam Copeland (fka Edge). The town was devastated by Hurricane Helene last month, and Beth Phoenix noted that some roads are still impassable and many in Asheville still need assistance.
The veteran also added the hashtag "#828strong" to show support for her neighbors in Asheville.
"There is so much more to do. Chinooks still fill our skies. Roads are still impassable. We are making progress but many still need support. #828Strong," she wrote.
Natalya reacted to Phoenix's message and noted that she was thinking of everyone in Asheville.
"I’m thinking of you all. Asheville is so beautiful and it’s also the people there who make it such a special place ❤️," wrote Natalya.
Beth Phoenix is married to Edge, now known as Adam Copeland in All Elite Wrestling, in real life. Copeland made his AEW debut at WrestleDream 2023 but is currently out with a major injury. The legend suffered a broken tibia during a Barbed Wire Steel Cage match against Malakai Black at AEW Double or Nothing 2024.
Bill Apter believes former WWE star Beth Phoenix will wind up in AEW
Wrestling veteran Bill Apter recently stated that Beth Phoenix would likely sign with All Elite Wrestling down the line.
Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine podcast, Apter explained why he believed AEW was the logical next move for the former champion. He noted that her husband is in the promotion, and she could also have potential marquee matches against stars such as TBS Champion Mercedes Moné.
"AEW is the logical choice at this point because her husband Adam Copeland is where Beth Copeland belongs at this point. So yes she's a recognizable face to the fans that watched her and followed her in WWE and I think it would be a good move since she's not with WWE anymore. This would be a good logical choice and I think I'd like to see her in terms of promos battling Mercedes Mone the CEO," Apter said. [From 00:28 to 1:08]
