Big E breaks silence with heartwarming update following New Day departure
WWE Superstar Big E is among the most beloved performers in the wrestling promotion. However, the 38-year-old was involved in a heartbreaking segment on Monday Night RAW earlier this month.
On the December 2 edition of the red brand, the stage was set for The New Day's 10th anniversary celebration. The former WWE Champion made his return to television and offered to be Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods' manager till he gets medically cleared. But in a shocking turn of events, the duo lashed out at their long-time ally and asked him to leave.
Big E has yet to release a statement following RAW. However, the 38-year-old recently re-shared ESPN's Andreas Hale's heartwarming Instagram story. The journalist posted a screenshot from his Facetime with the former Intercontinental Champion from an event with fans in the back. While WWE Superstars Drew McIntyre and Sheamus were there, the former Money in the Bank Winner, seemingly at home, was not a part of the event.
Wrestling veteran claims he was surprised by Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston turning on Big E
Legendary wrestling journalist Bill Apter shared his thoughts regarding the RAW segment that saw Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods sort out their differences and ask their fellow New Day member to leave.
On the latest episode of The Wrestling Time Machine, Apter stated that he was certain that Kofi and Woods would fall out by the end of the segment. The 79-year-old was impressed by the surprising turn of events as he did not see it coming.
"When they showed Kofi [Kingston] and Xavier [Woods] walking into the building alone, they didn't have a celebratory feel about them. They were just like, it was another night. When they came to the ring, it was all dressed up and beautiful, and they were very blasé about the thing. I thought the two would get into a confrontation with each other. Big E comes down, and they hit a turnaround angle I never thought would happen where Kofi and Xavier Woods bonded when we thought they would kill each other, and they turned their backs on Big E. What a great turn of events," he said. [From 5:03-6:06]

Last week on RAW, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston made their way to the squared circle to address their actions. However, a hostile crowd took over and booed The New Day members so loudly that they were forced to walk out of the ring without saying much.
