Big E clears the air on whether a particular WWE star is the leader of The New Day
The New Day has made a significant impact in WWE and would go down as one of the best teams to enter the Hall of Fame in the future. Recently, Big E spoke about the faction's legacy and cleared the air on whether The New Day had a leader.
The New Day has made its place in the history book, as the trio has dominated competition in the Stamford-based promotion for a long time. However, the group never felt stale, as they often switched between members, whether it was tag team matches or singles runs.
In an interview with Chris Vannini on Getting Over: Wrestling Podcast, Big E addressed The New Day's legacy in the business. The former WWE Champion cleared the air by saying that none of the three stars from the faction ever assumed the leadership role, which became one of the reasons behind their success.
"More than anything, I feel like we were three guys that always cared about each other. We never did anything to put ourselves ahead of the group. I think that's a big part of our success. We always wanted to make sure there was never a leader. Kofi and I got the opportunity to be in the ring early on, and we knew there had to be moments where Woods got to really shine. That's what I love about us; it's the selflessness," Big E said. (From 1:17:35 to 1:18:00)

Xavier Woods aligned with two popular WWE stars on Monday Night RAW
Earlier this year, The New Day had a heated feud with Imperium on Monday Night RAW. Unfortunately, Woods and Kingston lost and headed to Philadelphia to compete in the six-pack Ladder Match at WrestleMania XL.
After losing at The Show of Shows, the duo feuded with Karrion Kross' The Final Testament. The former WWE NXT Champion has been trying to split the legendary faction on the red brand.
In June 2024, Karrion Kross defeated Kofi Kingston and put him on the injured list with a post-match attack. In Kingston's absence, Xavier Woods has been feuding with the villainous faction. However, he found allies in the form of Otis and Akira Tozawa on the recent episode of RAW.
The 37-year-old will join forces with the Alpha Academy members for a six-man tag team match against The Final Testament on RAW next week.
