Big E returning to play a huge role in the ongoing New Day saga could happen soon, says former WWE writer
WWE might finally be ready to pull the trigger on a New Day split, as there are evident tensions between Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. However, Freddie Prinze Jr. believes Big E could play a deciding role in the faction's future.
The former WWE Champion has not wrestled since 2022 after he suffered a neck injury that many feel is career-ending. While the chances might be slim, Big E still hopes to return to the ring and is awaiting medical tests to determine whether he will wrestle again.
In the meantime, the powerhouse continues to be involved with WWE and can be seen as an analyst during the company's PLEs. Freddie Prinze Jr., however, can foresee Big E returning to help his New Day brothers get on the same page.
The former WWE writer reviewed the recent developments in The New Day's story and admitted he never expected the group ever to be broken up.
Freddie Prinze Jr. stated that the narrative was building up towards Big E's TV return, as he revealed below:
"I'm thinking this story is bringing back Big E. I don't think as a wrestler, but I think he is going to be on television, and I think he is going to be on television really soon, and he is going to help these young men. They are not young anymore; help these men see the error in their ways and pull them back together again." [From 39:35 onwards]
Freddie Prinze Jr. noted that The New Day's apparent downfall began after Big E was forced to step away from the ring.
Even though they've won tag team titles since Big E's departure, The New Day hasn't had the same impact from a few years ago, according to Prinze.
Freddie Prinze Jr. understands Xavier Woods's frustrations towards fellow New Day member Kofi Kingston
In recent weeks, it has become more apparent that Xavier Woods might turn heel on Kofi Kingston.
Their issues stem from Kingston not consulting Woods before asking LWO for help during one of their recent matches for the tag team championship. Woods is annoyed with his long-time friend, and Freddie Prinze Jr. can see why the WWE star is unhappy.
Prinze Jr. explained:
"The best friends are having beef, and I totally get where Woods is coming from; former guest of the show, Xavier Woods, I get where he is coming from because I'd be pissed too, Jeff, if you made plans and didn't tell me about the show and all of a sudden I'm learning about it in front of the people who came in." Xavier Woods is scheduled to face Rey Mysterio on next week's Monday Night RAW, and the match could feature a big moment that advances The New Day saga.
