Bloodline member would be a better choice to face Goldberg in his WWE retirement match, says veteran, compared to Gunther

WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg is set to have his official retirement match in 2025. Among many potential contenders being thrown in the hat, Gunther's name has repeatedly popped up. However, wrestling veteran Dutch Mantell believes that a member of the new Bloodline would be a more compelling opponent for Da Man.

At the Bad Blood Premium Live Event in Atlanta, fans witnessed a heated confrontation between The Ring General and Bill Goldberg. While the two men didn't physically engage, their intense interaction has fueled speculation about a potential match between them.

Adding to this buzz, during Crown Jewel 2024, the former WWE Universal Champion announced that he would retire in 2025. This led to the wrestling world believing that Goldberg's last opponent would be the reigning World Heavyweight Champion.

On his Story Time with Dutch Mantell podcast, the 74-year-old veteran discussed the above-mentioned matter and straight up asserted that Gunther as Da Man's final opponent does not make sense whatsoever. The co-host then suggested Solo Sikoa's name, to which Dutch Mantell agreed, saying:

"That [Solo Sikoa as Bill Goldberg's opponent] would be much better because they [fans] hate him anyway; they don't like him. And they [WWE] could class the finish that makes everybody look good really. But with Gunther, I'm thinking, 'How they could craft this finish to make Gunther actually look good?'" Goldberg faced off against OG Bloodline member in his last WWE match two years ago

On the February 4, 2022, edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Da Man made a massive return and confronted Roman Reigns. The Hall of Famer acknowledged the OG Bloodline member as his "next victim" and challenged him for the WWE Universal Championship at Elimination Chamber.

Fans assumed that they would see a title change at the premium live event in Saudi Arabia two years ago. However, Roman Reigns retained the world championship by defeating Goldberg via referee stoppage after applying a guillotine choke.

Only time will reveal who will be the 57-year-old legend's last opponent in his retirement match.
