Bobby Lashley must not leave WWE for AEW for a simple reason, explains veteran (Exclusive)
Amidst rumors of Bobby Lashley leaving WWE, many are speculating whether AEW may be his next destination. However, a veteran thinks this may be a mistake.
Bobby's contract is reportedly set to expire soon, leading to questions about his future. Considering AEW is currently the second most popular promotion, it makes sense for him to join Tony Khan's roster. However, veteran journalist Bill Apter believes there is simply no good opponent for the All Mighty in the Jacksonville-based company.
Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine hosted by Mac Davis, Apter stated:
"He looks like pumped, and an athlete, he really takes care of himself. Who in AEW would be going against Bobby Lashley who is physically, looks like a monster? I can't think of any 'Heavyweight' in AEW that would be an equal match to him. Who would that be?" [4:45 onwards]
Bill Apter had previously claimed that the WWE superstar would not be successful in AEW
Despite Bobby Lashley being a talented star, Bill Apter believes that he will certainly not be a good fit for AEW's roster.
Speaking on another episode of Sportskeeda's UnSKripted, the legendary journalist talked about how only a few stars like Wardlow were a proper match
"They're talking about Bobby Lashley possibly leaving WWE. We talked about this on Time Machine and said, 'Maybe he will go to AEW.' But you know what? Other than the build of Wardlow, who they are doing nothing with, he's gonna be working with lightweights. There is nobody there for him to... MJF would not be a good opponent for him. [Will] Ospreay wouldn't be a good opponent for him. Bryan Danielson wouldn't be a good opponent. They are all small guys!" the veteran said. [8:49 onwards]
For now, only time will tell what is next for the former WWE Champion in the near future.
