Bobby Lashley seemingly confirms next major move in WWE amid hiatus

Former WWE Champion Bobby Lashley has been absent from the Stamford-based promotion for the last three due to injury-related issues. The Pride leader was scheduled to face Tama Tonga in the first round of the King of the Ring Tournament but was eventually replaced by Angelo Dawkins.

Amid his hiatus, Lashley took to his Instagram account and signaled his future intentions. The SmackDown Superstar posted pictures of himself with various championship belts he has won during his decorated career. Lashley is a two-time WWE Champion, a two-time Intercontinental Champion, a three-time United States Champion, and more.

However, the veteran has not held a championship belt since 2022. His last reign was as United States Champion. The 47-year-old signaled his intention to chase titles with a powerful message on Instagram.

"Domination is for champions; competition is for everyone else. #TitleChasing #gettingready," Bobby Lashley wrote.

What is in store for Bobby Lashley on WWE SmackDown?

At Money in the Bank last weekend, Solo Sikoa pinned Cody Rhodes in a six-man tag team match. The new Tribal Chief reacted to his victory on Instagram, claiming, "It has begun," which could mean that it is the dawn of a new era of The Bloodline, and The Street Champion intends to dethrone The American Nightmare.

Meanwhile, Bobby Lashley and Street Profits have also had issues with The Bloodline on SmackDown. Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins wrestled Solo Sikoa and Co. in Bobby Lashley's absence. The Pride could battle the heel faction in six-man tag matches after Lashley returns to WWE TV.

For quite some time now, Lashley has taken a back seat to other talents on SmackDown. Perhaps the former US Champion's impending return to the blue brand could translate to him getting back to his winning ways.

The creative team laid the groundwork for a feud between Bobby Lashley and Carmelo Hayes after the former NXT Champion got drafted to SmackDown. However, Lashley's injury derailed those plans. The duo could rebuild their rivalry after the former ECW World Champion returns to the promotion.
