Bobby Lashley set to represent WWE following departure

Former WWE Champion, Bobby Lashley is set to represent the Stamford-based company mere days after parting ways with the wrestling promotion. The All Mighty was moved to the promotion's alumni section on their official website last week.

The 48-year-old had been absent from television following an unfortunate injury during training ahead of his King of The Ring Qualifying Match against The Bloodline's Tama Tonga. His last televised in-ring appearance was way back in April when he competed with LA Knight and Santos Escobar in a number-one contender qualifying Triple Threat Match for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

Amid rumors of not having re-signed a contract, Lashley and his former stablemate MVP officially departed from the company last week. Despite the exit, the former leader of The Pride will appear on the upcoming episode of Celebrity Family Feud. He will be accompanied by The Street Profits, LA Knight, and Austin Theory, alongside female superstars Mia Yim, Jade Cargill, Bianca Belair, Zelina Vega, and Sonya Deville.

However, it must be noted that the episode had been recorded beforehand, which is seemingly confirmed by Austin Theory holding the tag team title in the poster.

Veteran is critical of Bobby Lashley's potential move to AEW, following his departure from WWE

Over the past few weeks, it has been rumored that Bobby Lashley could possibly end up in AEW even before his exit from WWE. Several wrestling fans eagerly await The All Mighty to join the Jacksonville-based promotion. However, veteran journalist Bill Apter shares a different narrative regarding the same.

On a recent edition of Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Time Machine podcast, Apter praised Lashley, highlighting his impressive physique. However, the 78-year-old suggested it might work against the former WWE Champion. He claimed that the current AEW roster does not have a believable match for the physical specimen that is Lashley.

"He looks like pumped, and an athlete, he really takes care of himself. Who in AEW would be going against Bobby Lashley who is physically, looks like a monster? I can't think of any 'heavyweight' in AEW that would be an equal match to him. Who would that be?" wondered Apter. [4:45 onwards]

Bobby Lashley has been a part of several memorable moments across promotions. It remains to be seen what lies ahead for the former United States Champion following his surprising exit from WWE.
