Booker T makes a bold claim about reigning WWE champion

WWE Hall of Famer Booker T recently expressed his admiration for a top female champion in the company. The star in question is none other than the reigning NXT Women's Champion, Roxanne Perez.

For those unaware, before joining the Stamford-based promotion, Perez made her professional wrestling debut under the ring name Rok-C in December 2018. She began her wrestling career in Booker T's promotion, Reality of Wrestling.

At the 2024 Stand & Deliver Premium Live Event, The Prodigy defeated Lyra Valkyria to capture the NXT Women's Championship for the second time in her career. Since then, the up-and-coming star has successfully defended her title against the likes of Jaida Parker, Thea Hail, Chelsea Green, and several others.

On the latest installment of the Hall of Fame podcast, former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Booker T praised Roxanne Perez's rapid rise to stardom in professional wrestling.

"We know about Roxanne Perez. No one expected Roxanne Perez [to go] through the ashes and be the one. No one saw that rose rising up through the concrete and blossoming right there in the middle of I-45. That’s Roxanne Perez; no one saw that coming. Did I see that coming? I did. From day one, Roxanne Perez at fantasy camp showed me how bad she wanted it. When she became a part of Reality of Wrestling, I was in awe of her talent and her work ethic," he said.

Booker T emphasized The Prodigy's dedication, talent, and achievements, claiming she had already earned a place in the Hall of Fame. The WWE legend continued:

"Then for her to make it to the next level so quick and become ROH’s first women’s champion, that right there is a statement in itself. Breakout tournament winner, Iron Survivor, two-time NXT Women’s Champion. She’s got a hall of fame career already. If she retired today, she’d be going into the Hall of Fame." [H/T: Fightful]

Booker T open to officiating massive WWE match

In the latest episode of Monday Night RAW, General Manager Adam Pearce declared that CM Punk and Drew McIntyre would lock horns inside the Hell in a Cell at the upcoming Bad Blood PLE. The bitter rivals have traded victories in their past two encounters. While The Scottish Psychopath emerged victorious at SummerSlam, The Second City Saint defeated the former in a Strap Match at Bash in Berlin.

Meanwhile, former WWE World Champion Booker T revealed on his Hall of Fame podcast that he would love to officiate the match between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre and call it ''right down the middle.'' Notably, Seth Rollins was the Special Guest Referee in the first match of the feud at The Biggest Party of The Summer.

"I'll be there in a heartbeat. I'll be there in a heartbeat. I would love to officiate, you know, a match like that and really, you know, call it right down the middle. Yeah, mano a mano. Yeah, yeah!" he said.

It will be interesting to see if Triple H approaches the NXT commentator to officiate the Hell in a Cell match at the upcoming WWE PLE.
