Booker T picks two rising stars outside WWE as the future of the industry

Two major non-WWE names have caught Booker T's attention. He even called them the future of the business.

Women's wrestling has come a long way from the '80s and '90s. Today, women have main-evented shows in some of the top promotions in the world. Several young women are making a name for themselves on the independent wrestling scene. Two of those women are Promise Braxton and Gigi Rey.

Braxton and Rey have worked with a few promotions and made a name for themselves in the Texas wrestling scene. They have even worked with Booker T's Reality of Wrestling, where they both held the ROW Diamonds Championship. Given how closely they have worked with NXT commentator, it should be no surprise that he thinks highly of them.

The WWE Hall of Famer recently took to social media to call Promise Braxton and Gigi Rey the future of professional wrestling.

"These two ladies are the future of professional wrestling…. Remember Their Names!!!" he wrote.

Booker T defended Roxanne Perez from criticism

Like Promise Braxton and Gigi Rey, Roxanne Perez has also come through Booker T's Reality of Wrestling promotion. Since arriving in NXT, she has been named a prodigy and has accomplished a lot for the company.

Despite this, Bully Ray stated that Roxanne Perez wasn't ready for the main roster yet as she is still young and should continue improving on NXT.

Considering Roxanne is one of Booker T's students, he didn't take kindly to these comments and said that Bully Ray doesn't know what he is talking about on his Hall of Fame podcast.

"I like Bubba Ray, but he don't know what the hell he's talking about. Roxanne Perez is definitely one of the best in the WWE right now; she is just that good, and she came through my wrestling school. I don't see none of Bubba Ray's students out there doing nothing, I'm just saying."

It will be interesting to see if the NXT commentator's prediction about Promise Braxton and Gigi Rey will come true.
