Booker T questions heartbreaking Judgment Day betrayal at SummerSlam; WWE Hall of Famer still hopeful 'we can get something out of this'
Booker T reacted to the Judgment Day's betrayal of Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest at WWE SummerSlam. The two-time WWE Hall of Famer is still hoping that fans can get "something out of" the storyline moving forward.
It was a sad day for many Judgment Day fans when Dominik Mysterio betrayed his Mami and helped Liv Morgan retain the Women's World Championship. Finn Balor did the same thing to Priest, costing him the World Heavyweight Championship against Gunther.
On a recent episode of The Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T shared his opinion on the betrayal and how it might not be a bad thing. He's always excited about changes and is just hoping there will be a lot of action, like with the old Bloodline vs. the new Bloodline story on WWE SmackDown.
"It may not run as well as the original Judgment Day, but I think we can get something out of this. I think the way they transition Rhea Ripley as well as Damian Priest, I thought it was very very well done. They're not like out in the cold either, even after they just lost his title. He's still relevant, he's still in the picture, so for me, I like the old Judgment Day as well as the new Judgment Day. I like the old Bloodline; I like the new Bloodline. I just like the action that's going on," Booker said. [From 47:39 - 48:11]
Finn Balor has seemingly taken over leadership of The Judgment Day, with Liv Morgan, Dominik Mysterio, JD McDonagh, and Carlito as the other members. Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest, on the other hand, will likely continue seeking revenge against their former stablemates.
WWE Backstage reaction to the Judgment Day split
According to David Shoemaker of The Ringer Wrestling Show, the members of the Judgment Day were emotional backstage after the official split of the group. Shoemaker explained that with Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest out due to the storyline, they wouldn't be riding with the other members on the road.
WRKD Wrestling on X, formerly known as Twitter, also had a similar report about the group's split. The higher-ups within the company have always been happy with their performance, but it's time to progress the story.
It's clear that Damian Priest and Finn Balor will be feuding, while Rhea Ripley will continue to chase Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio. However, the two stars are outnumbered by their former group, so it will be interesting to see if they can find some much-needed backup moving forward.
