Braun Strowman breaks silence after surprise loss on WWE SmackDown

Braun Strowman broke his silence after losing to Carmelo Hayes on this week's edition of WWE SmackDown. He lost via count-out and was ambushed backstage by the former NXT Champion.

Strowman officially joined the blue brand on last week's show. He was revealed as Hayes' surprise opponent and defeated him within seconds. This week on the show, Hayes challenged the 41-year-old superstar to a rematch and pulled off a surprise win. The episode was pre-taped last Friday.

On Twitter/X, Strowman broke his silence after his loss. He accused Hayes of running like a 'scared rabbit.'

"They all run like scared little rabbits. Run, rabbit, RUN!!!!! You can’t fight fate!! I want my pound of flesh!" wrote Strowman.

Vince Russo believes Braun Strowman could be a contender for Cody Rhodes' championship

Vince Russo has suggested that Braun Strowman could emerge as a challenger for Cody Rhodes' Undisputed WWE Championship. They are currently on the same brand.

Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Writing With Russo, he claimed that Strowman lost credibility due to his poor booking over the years. However, Russo believes a match between Strowman and Rhodes could be arranged down the road. He said:

"Bro, he could be an opponent for Cody," Russo said. "I mean, that's the way they're booking now, bro. They're just throwing people in there. You could definitely get a pay-per-view match out of him and Cody."

Rhodes is feuding with Kevin Owens, whom he defeated at Saturday Night's Main Event to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship. The feud between the two superstars seems far from over after Owens attacked his rival and hit him with a brutal piledriver after their match.

The American Nightmare was absent from this week's episode of WWE SmackDown. His future on the blue brand also seems uncertain, as a potential move to Monday Night RAW could be on the cards.
