Braun Strowman puts WWE locker room on notice upon return
Braun Strowman turned out to be the one SmackDown sheriff Nick Aldis had in his back pocket for Carmelo Hayes. Upon his unannounced WWE return this past Friday, he squashed the former NXT Champion in a surprising turn of events.
Hayes is the first NXT alumni to get drafted in the first round and remains one of the company's best young talents. His booking last night was a choice that will certainly evoke controversy, to say the least. Needless to say, the big picture is that Strowman is back, and perhaps the former WWE Universal Champion is ready to switch brands as part of the transfer window. If that is the case, then this could be the start of a fresh rivalry.
Taking to Instagram, The Monster Among All Monsters highlighted a key moment from his match on SmackDown where he grabbed his opponent by the neck. Strowman also added an exclamation point by writing that nobody should mess with him:
"And you don’t mess around with BRAUN!!!! #BackOnTheBlueBrand," Braun Strowman wrote on his social.
Check out his Instagram post below:
Braun Strowman's credentials give him a certain level of weight opposite Carmelo Hayes, both literally and figuratively. Perhaps this is just what Hayes needed in order to start off fresh with a clean slate after a largely forgettable maiden year on the main roster.
Braun Strowman reminds the WWE Universe of why he needs another run with the World Title
In 2020, Braun Strowman replaced Roman Reigns as WWE was getting closer to WrestleMania 36. The Monster Among All Monsters defeated then-Universal Champion Goldberg to win his first and only World Title.
While speaking to Busted Open this past summer, Strowman mentioned Drew McIntyre's quest to win a World Title in front of a live crowd after both his wins and the subsequent reigns happened during the pandemic. He noted that the Scottish star was not the only one who went through this situation.
"So many people get to finish their story. Drew McIntyre talked about winning this championship in front of nobody, but how he wanted to do it in front of people. I won my singles Universal Championship in front of nobody. I sure would like to do it in front of 100,000 people," he said.
Perhaps in the coming months, we may witness The Monster's quest to become a World Champion again. As of this writing, it remains to be seen which brand recruits Strowman as the transfer window is now open.
