WWE News: Braun Strowman says he wanted match against The Undertaker
What’s the story?
Braun Strowman was interviewed by Observer News Online and discussed his participation in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal as well as his involvement in the feud between Roman Reigns and The Undertaker.
In case you didn’t know...
Strowman will compete with 30 other competitors on the WrestleMania Kickoff Show at the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
This match will mark Strowman’s in-ring debut at WrestleMania, as his role at last year’s event was a segment with the rest of his former group, The Wyatt Family, fighting John Cena and The Rock.
The heart of the matter
Strowman commented on his debut in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal and said that he was excited to make the most out of this opportunity.
“I had no idea exactly 100 percent what was going to happen this past Monday. I’m excited to be a part of [the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal].
Any opportunity this company gives me, I take the ball and run with it. Any opportunity you get, you need to make the most of it, and that’s what I plan on doing.”
Strowman also talked about being envious of Roman Reigns facing The Undertaker and how he’d like to face him if he decides to wrestle one more time.
“I want a program with Taker. I’m going to be selfish. I’m envious of Roman Reigns. That’s The Undertaker. That’s his yard. Who doesn’t want to have an opportunity to have to work with The Undertaker? There’s nothing like it.
He’s the Phenom. I’m really hoping he wants to come back and do one more [match at WrestleMania]. The people want it, and I want it.”
What’s next?
Tune into the WrestleMania Kickoff show at 5 PM ET to see Strowman take on several Superstars from Raw and SmackDown in the Andre the Giant Battle Royal.

Also, Triple H has said that the WWE have some plans set up for Strowman down the line, so hopefully that starts to become apparent as soon as WrestleMania 33 tomorrow.
Author’s take
It’s somewhat ironic that there were rumours for a match between Strowman and The Undertaker for WrestleMania 32, but The Undertaker’s actual opponent would be revealed to be Shane McMahon.
A year later and people are into the idea of seeing Strowman fight The Deadman, but it won’t be happening.
There are several opponents that fans would like The Undertaker to face before he retires and it seems like Strowman’s name can be added to the list. If The Undertaker’s up to it, then maybe this could be a match at SummerSlam or Survivor Series.
At the very least, it shows how much value people place on Strowman now versus last year. Hopefully, the company lives up to what seems to be a promising future star.
