Brawl breaks out on WWE NXT after new champion refuses to defend his title against top star

At WWE NXT Heatwave this past Sunday, Ethan Page defeated Trick Williams, Shawn Spears, and Je'Von Evans in a Fatal Four-Way match to become the new NXT Champion. He opened the show this week and got into a confrontation with his former opponents.

During an in-ring segment on WWE NXT, All Ego bragged about how he won the title in a short time. He stated that since everyone hates him, including his co-workers, he brought security to protect him and his title. Oro Mensah then showed up, but the guards stopped him.

Ethan Page thanked Ava for banning Mensah from WWE NXT Heatwave, preventing the latter from interfering in the title match. The former AEW star vowed that as NXT Champion, he'll ensure that outsiders don't come in to ruin what they have. He then declared that the 'Whoop That Era' is one.

Trick Williams then showed up and demanded his rematch for the title during the show. However, Ethan Page denied his request. Shawn Spears came out and told Page that he owed him a thank you, as he won the title because of him. However, All Ego said he was going to win the match anyway.

After Je'Von Evans made his appearance known and said he came close to winning the title, a brawl broke out in the ring. Ultimately, the two babyfaces remained standing in the ring while the heels retreated.
