WWE News: Brie Bella on Ronda Rousey, in-ring return, and Total Bellas
Brie Bella has been retired for about 7 months now. She decided to retire so that she could start a family with her husband Daniel Bryan, something that was not feasible when she was on the road with WWE constantly.
However, last month the couple announced that they were expecting a baby. Brie Bella accompanied Daniel Bryan and Nikki Bella on their European tour, and she recently appeared in an interview with Sky Sports, where she spoke about her career.
Regarding the possibility of Ronda Rousey transitioning into WWE, Brie said that she could certainly make the transition. Brie further went on to specify two main reasons for a smooth transition - one being that Ronda Rousey is a wrestling fan and the second being that in-ring movements between WWE and UFC are similar.
Talking about an in-ring return for herself, Brie said that she couldn’t wait to make a comeback. She stated that she would love to wrestle her sister Nikki, but an ideal return for her would be to have The Bella Twins take on Lita and Trish Stratus.
Brie has stated on multiple occasions that after her first child is born, she will be getting back in shape to make an in-ring return. A return by this timeline would appear to be around the Summerslam period next year.
Her latest project has been Total Bellas, a spin-off show of Total Divas. Brie said that the conversations and the entire feel of the show is different from Total Divas. The reason being that Total Bellas revolves around them and their family, so the chemistry, connection, and history are clear from the get-go.
She gave an example about how situations involving arguments won’t offend family members, but a similar predicament on Total Divas would turn out to be a big, dramatic mess. She also credited Vince McMahon for letting them wear their own clothes and having their own gimmicks that took their careers to the next level.
The reason why The Bella Twins got their own spin-off show was due to them being the biggest hit with the audiences amongst the entire Total Divas cast.
The idea is that these reality shows bring in a completely different audience to WWE who don’t watch pro-wrestling. The Total Divas and Total Bellas series have helped achieve that.
Total Divas returns for a sixth season this November 16th. Are you looking forward to it?
