Brock Lesnar is a "different animal" for Gunther, says WWE legend

The status of 10-time WWE world champion, Brock Lesnar, remains ambiguous, although he is still signed to the company. He was last seen at SummerSlam in August 2023, where he wrestled Cody Rhodes in a losing effort.

When it comes to Lesnar, he has been there and done that in the wrestling business. However, there is one match people wish to see him compete in more than anything else, against Gunther. WWE Hall of Famer, The Undertaker, is also hoping that it happens down the line.

Speaking on Six Feet Under with Mark Calaway, The Undertaker reflected on his war with Brock Lesnar on WWE television. The two legends had battled several times, twice inside Hell in a Cell, in two different eras.

The Phenom feels that the 47-year-old can give The Ring General a run for his money. He noted how guys like CM Punk and Drew McIntyre are all worthy opponents for the World Heavyweight Champion, but those bouts would merely be "wrestling matches," and that The Beast was "a different animal."

"Those are all wrestling matches. Brock's a different animal in what he does, in his approach. Everything he does, you understand. Brock doesn't do anything crazy. But everything that he does means something. And it's scary, and it's violent, and it's easy to understand that you should not be on the receiving end of anything that Brock does," he said. Gunther says he is "wide open" to working with Brock Lesnar

There were rumblings around WrestleMania season, earlier this year, that Gunther vs. Brock Lesnar was in the works. The Ring General confirmed that unfortunately, things fell through. This was because Lesnar was seemingly alluded to in Janel Grant's lawsuit against former WWE Chairman, Vince McMahon.

In an interview with GV Wire ahead of WrestleMania XL, Gunther addressed the Brock Lesnar situation. He admitted that it was still a match he hoped WWE could book down the line:

"[What would be your dream scenario for WrestleMania?] Obviously, I always was vocal about my dream match in the past but that fell through now. I don't think we're gonna, I don't know if we'll see Brock [Lesnar] again. If that's ever gonna happen. But I'm wide open when it comes to that as of now," he said.

At Royal Rumble 2023, Gunther and Brock Lesnar had a moment in the ring, which evoked a rapturous reaction from the live crowd. From that point on, it has remained at the tippy top of dream matches for many in the WWE Universe.
