Brock Lesnar facing major WWE champion would be a great match, according to legend (Exclusive)

WWE is expected to bring Brock Lesnar back at some point, but there has been no kind of timeline for the comeback. Triple H has expressed optimism about Lesnar's future, while the fans have fantasy-booked and speculated on potential plans for more than one year now. A wrestling legend recently pitched a very interesting feud for The Beast Incarnate to return to.

Cody Rhodes defeated The Beast Incarnate at WWE SummerSlam on August 5, 2023, and he has not wrestled since. Lesnar's name was allegedly alluded to Janel Grant's lawsuit against Vince McMahon and the company, but there have been positive signs towards an eventual return. There were rumors about the former UFC champion working with the current World Heavyweight Champion Gunther at one point, which may have benefited Bron Breakker. Brock has never wrestled The Ring General or Breakker.

John Bradshaw Layfield would like to see both of those matches. Speaking on the latest Live Q&A with JBL and Gerald Brisco from Sportskeeda Wrestling's Backstage Pass, Layfield agreed with Brisco that Lesnar is just great. He gave a unique insight into how the former Universal Champion commands attention in arenas and touched on why his comeback should involve Paul Heyman, The Bloodline, and Cody Rhodes.

"Yeah, he is, and I've been out there with him so many times. When he [Brock Lesnar] comes out, everything changes.[...] People just pay attention. It's just unbelievable the presence he has when he walks into the arena. He's got this incredible storyline with Paul Heyman. [...] I don't know any of it's going to happen, I'm speculating! I'm speculating like any other fan, Brock has this great relationship with Paul Heyman, it's a natural thing for The Bloodline to have this Civil War going on right now, also Cody as well, interacting with The Bloodline. I think Brock fits in, in so many different places right now," JBL said. [From 36:04 to 37:03]

The Wrestling God was reminded of a potential Lesnar vs. Gunther match. The veteran praised the Austrian for being a world-class athlete and shared his thoughts on a potential match between The Ring General and The Conqueror, declaring that the people would look back on the bout forever.

"You know, I didn't think about Gunther, and that's just because I was so busy thinking about what Brock had relationships with. I love Gunther. He is, that guy is world-class talent, and he is such a good, hard worker. He and Brock could have a hell-of-a match. I mean...that would be something the people would talk about forever," JBL said. Brisco also praised The Ring General and said he deserves this push due to his hard work. The veteran also endorsed Lesnar vs. Gunther because he thinks it would be "intriguing."

However, the veteran doesn't think the bout between The Beast Incarnate and Bron Breakker should happen any time soon, as he wants to see Breakker develop his character for a couple more years into the major WWE Superstar everyone knows he will be.
