Brock Lesnar returning after 16 months of absence won't fix WWE's major problem, says veteran

Brock Lesnar has been off WWE television since August 2023. While a wrestling veteran recently expressed his desire to see The Beast Incarnate return, he claimed Lesnar's comeback would not fix a major creative problem.

Brock Lesnar last wrestled 16 months ago when he lost to Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam 2023. He has since been away from the Stamford-based company despite reportedly still being under contract. The 47-year-old was seemingly referenced in the Janel Grant lawsuit against Vince McMahon. Earlier this year, Chief Content Officer Triple H addressed The Beast Incarnate's status, disclosing that he would be open to discussing Brock's comeback if the former Universal Champion wanted to return.

Speaking on the Straight Talk with The Boss podcast, Magnum T.A. criticized the company's recent creative direction, claiming it has been predictable. Although he disclosed that he would like to see Lesnar return, the 65-year-old pointed out that the company needs new blood to stir the pot.

"They've got this A-team, but it's still like the A-team that you see week in and week out, and you see them 52 weeks a year. So, without mixing some little catalyst up in it to stir the pot or get everybody off base,'' he said.

The veteran added:

''I mean, as much as I'd like to see Brock Lesnar back, it's still just taking, you know, you said reaching out, pull[ing] in this great player, and, you know, letting him go in there and do his thing. We just need some new blood that's hungry and can get in there and just change the chemistry up a little bit.'' [11:56-12:43]

Paul Heyman recently addressed Brock Lesnar's WWE status

In a recent interview with ClutchPoints, Brock Lesnar's former advocate Paul Heyman addressed whether The Beast Incarnate would ever return to the WWE ring.

Roman Reigns' Wiseman claimed the decision is in the hands of the former Universal Champion, pointing out that the 47-year-old WWE legend is a "private beast."

"I don't have that answer because Brock Lesnar is not in the public eye, which affords him a level of privacy that I would never violate. So, if Brock Lesnar is of the desire to ever be in the public eye again, he'll let you know when the time is right. He's earned the right to that privacy. Brock Lesnar's a private man; a private beast. Should he wish to be in the public eye, he will be, and should he wish never to be seen again, you've seen the last of Brock Lesnar," Heyman said. Lesnar was recently spotted sporting a new look amid his hiatus. His wife, former WWE Women's Champion Sable, also looked unrecognizable in a new photo that surfaced online.
