Bron Breakker "had it coming" after badmouthing Anoa'i family, says 39-year-old (Exclusive)
Bron Breakker made things personal with Jey Uso from the get-go when he brought up their lineage. Afa Anoa'i, Jr. has commented on Breakker's claims.
This past Monday, he noted how, unlike Uso, he does not need the Steiner family name to succeed in the business. Jey retorted with a reference to Breakker's failed NFL career, stating that the latter's Intercontinental Championship reign will end prematurely just like it.
Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Enter The Bloodline, Afa stated that Bron Breakker was getting "too comfortable" by taking digs at the Anoa'i family. As for Jey Uso's burn, the 39-year-old felt that it was inevitable:
"He [Bron Breakker] had it coming. He was talking a lot of smack about the family," Afa Anoa'i, Jr. said. "He was getting a little too comfortable out there." [From 12:24 to 12:32]
WWE has finally announced the date for this highly anticipated clash. The Intercontinental Champion will defend his belt against "Main Event" Jey Uso next week on RAW.
CM Punk says Bron Breakker is "dangerous" because he is a Steiner
During the Fanatics Fest NYC a few weeks ago, CM Punk was asked to comment on Bron Breakker. The Chicago native called him a "dangerous" specimen.
Punk pointed to the level of pressure Breakker has because the high expectations people have on him. However, the former WWE Champion also added that the Intercontinental Champion will shine so long as his head is in the right place and he takes things one step at a time:
"I think he’s dangerous because he’s a Steiner. The future looks bright as long as he can navigate the water and deal with all the pressure. Everybody looks at him and says the same thing, ‘Bonafide future world champion and superstar.’ That’s a lot to deal with when you’re young and first starting out. He has a good head on his shoulders. I predict good things for him," CM Punk said.
Konnan touched upon Jey Uso receiving a title shot on his podcast Keepin' It 100 recently. He feels that the move is solid, but it can prove detrimental because neither man should lose at this time.
Where things go from here bears watching. Needless to say, it feels like the company has only begun telling Jey Uso and Bron Breakker's story.
