Bron Breakker offers IC Title shot to 27-year-old ahead of WWE RAW
Bron Breakker won his first championship on the main roster at WWE SummerSlam. Now, he has offered a shot at his title to a ghost from his past.
During his run in NXT, he self-admittedly enjoyed working with Tyler Bate. Their match at Worlds Collide in 2022 was significant as the latter's NXT UK Championship reign was the final one before Breakker unified it with his NXT Championship.
At the Fanatics Live Auction recently, Bron Breakker brought up Tyler Bate's name. He addressed the English-born wrestler's injury but also revealed that he is down for a rematch:
"I feel like Tyler Bate and I [had a good match]. That was super early on too. I was still super brand new. He’s a little banged up right now, so I wish he comes back soon. And you know what, whenever you get back my man, you want to challenge me for the Intercontinental Championship, then I’ll lay it down for you. Because we had a good one," Bron Breakker said.
Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne formed a tag team earlier this year, dubbed New Catch Republic. They performed at Elimination Chamber in Perth, West Australia on February 24 against then-Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions Damian Priest and Finn Bálor, and again for the belts in a multi-man Ladder match at WrestleMania XL.
Bron Breakker lays down a challenge to two top WWE Superstars
It appears Bron Breakker does not want to rest after emphatically defeating Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam. He demanded veteran John Cena to "grow some balls" and face him for the title Cena never won in the latter's career.
John Cena announced his retirement from in-ring competition in 2025 after performing on at least 30-40 dates. A match against Breakker is a plausible scenario at this point:
"John Cena. He has never won the Intercontinental Championship before. So I say come take it from me. Come take the Championship from me. Grow some balls, come take the Championship from me. Let’s go. Let’s do it."
Ahead of SummerSlam, he had also challenged WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker to a generational clash. Bron Breakker acknowledged their interaction on the October 10, 2023 episode of NXT.
