Bron Breakker sold a Jey Uso move too soon during their WWE match, highlights Hall of Famer (Exclusive)
Out of all the young stars in WWE, Bron Breakker has already developed a solid reputation on the main roster. While discussing the intricacies of wrestling, Teddy Long recently broke down a moment from Breakker's match against Jey Uso.
Bron unfortunately lost the Intercontinental Championship to "Main Event" Jey during a recent RAW episode. While he will surely get another shot at reclaiming the title, Breakker and Uso might also want to consider Teddy Long's advice.
During an episode of The Wrestling Time Machine, Long expressed that Breakker should not have sold and gone down to one of Jey Uso's strikes on RAW. A monster like Bron Breakker should require multiple hits to be taken off his feet, according to Teddy Long.
The WWE Hall of Famer spoke about how size differences in wrestling are masked with layered spots. Instead of going down to the mat from one single blow, Teddy Long explained what talents should actually do:
"The big man there, Steiner's kid. He sold something that Uso did, and I thought it was too quick; he is too big. A big man shouldn't go off his feet until you hit him with something to make him go down. So, to hit him one time, he registers and staggers back; now you hit the rope and hit him with another big deal. Now, he is wobbling a little bit more. So this time, you know you're going to take him down (with one final hit)." [From 3:46 onwards]
Teddy Long on Bron Breakker's bright WWE future
The son of Rick Steiner has been a revelation since he decided to become a pro wrestler. He has multiple title wins in WWE and has been booked like a destroyer during his brief time on Monday Night RAW.
Teddy Long, who worked extensively with the Steiners, was confident that Bron Breakker would plug the holes in his game under his father's and uncle's expert guidance.
Long also believes the best way for up-and-coming talents to learn is by wrestling high-profile matches on the biggest stage.
He added:
"But he lives with the man, well, I don't know whether he lives with his dad, but he is with a man who knows this business back and out. Me and I, the Stieners, worked for many years together. So, it ain't like he ain't got the knowledge. But sometimes, you have to get in there." [From 4:28 onwards]
Bron Breakker not only attacked Jey Uso on the RAW after Bad Blood but also laid out the New Day while making his intentions clear: he wants to win the Intercontinental Title back and is willing to go to any lengths to make it happen.
