Bronson Reed injury at Survivor Series his own fault, alleges real-life Bloodline member; CM Punk & Roman Reigns moment could have been better

WWE Survivor Series featured some interesting moments between CM Punk and Roman Reigns, leaving a lot of questions unanswered. While both men had issues with each other during the early moments of the match, Punk saved Reigns from harm's way inside the cage, which eventually led to Bronson Reed injuring his ankle.

Real-life Bloodline member Rikishi has now given his take on the spot. Reed seemingly suffered a major ankle injury, which could keep him out of action for a long time. However, an official update from the Stamford-based company is still awaited.

During a recent edition of the Off The Top podcast, Rikishi addressed the massive spot where Reed jumped off the top of the cage. While the veteran acknowledged that it was a massive moment, he stated that the 36-year-old was at fault and lost his technique, which ended up being the reason for his injury.

“For me, after watching the repeat slow motion of the video, you can tell that his weight went wrong when he landed. He basically just kind of jumped from the top and landed on both ankles and both feet, you know what I'm saying. One foot flattened out, and the other foot kind of landed sideways... that's where he got injured… I think somewhere there," said Rikishi [10:55 onwards]

The Hall of Famer added that the Bloodline member didn't deliver his splash properly and should have tried it on the crash pad before the match to avoid any disaster.

"Plus, if you watched Bronson, he didn’t take off when he flew off from the top like flattened out. it was just like a drop, you know what I mean? [...] Would have been nice for Bronson to try that before on a crash pad first. That’s a big moment—a huge match. And now, you're hurt right now, the show goes on man," he added [12:23 onwards]

CM Punk has been blamed for Bronson Reed's injury

Reigns and Punk had a lot of viral moments during the WarGames match, and the Best in the World pulling out The OTC from harm's way was one of them. Addressing the situation, a fan pointed out that things could have been different if CM Punk had pulled Roman Reigns earlier, which could possibly have saved Reed from getting injured.

In a recent edition of the Taking You To School podcast, Dr. Tom Prichard assessed the fan's claim and stated that could have been a point. However, he also gave Bronson Reed his flowers for heading up to the top of the cage during the match.

With Roman Reigns engaged in the Bloodline story and CM Punk starting off a fresh feud with Seth Rollins, a match between both men seems at a distance for now.

However, with the amazing reaction from the WWE Universe lately, a feud between CM Punk and Roman Reigns will be worth watching. Time will tell when WWE decides to resume the saga.
