Bronson Reed reveals nickname after takeover warning from top WWE star
The WWE Universe had a strong buzz this week after a top superstar took to social media to warn of a company-wide takeover. Bronson Reed has been linked to the potential occupation, and now he's made interesting remarks that seem to be related.
DELTA is headed to World Wrestling Entertainment in the near future. The Australian grappler, also known as Delta Brady, has been on WWE's radar since the tryouts held during Elimination Chamber week. After news of the signing leaked, the talent acquisition was celebrated by a fellow Aussie Superstar - Grayson Waller. They were then joined by other stars from Down Under on the roster - Rhea Ripley, Indi Hartwell, Nia Jax, and Big Bronson Reed.
SmackDown's Arrogant Aussie warned that this was just the beginning of the Australian wrestling takeover, and this led to viral discussions on social media among fans. Reed took to Instagram to capitalize on the buzz as Waller did. The King of Monsters brought back an old nickname that the company has started to use more often as well: The Aus-Zilla.
"AUSZILLA #BIG #BRONSONREED #WWE #WWERAW #AUSZILLA #STRAYA," Bronson Reed wrote with the photo below.
Bronson has had issues with Sheamus and Pete Dunne as of late. After defeating The BruiserWeight in just over 7 minutes on the July 8 RAW, Reed was defeated by The Celtic Warrior in just over 8 minutes to open this week's RAW. These were The Top Dog's first-ever singles matches with Dunne and Sheamus.
Bronson Reed suggests Australian star to WWE NXT boss
Tommy Knight is a rising star from South Australia. The super heavyweight wrestler and MMA fighter was trained in the ring by none other than his fellow countryman, Bronson Reed.
The Prodigy received significant attention back in April after losing to Shelton Benjamin at OPW's Australian Stampede Pay-Per-View. Knight tweeted a clip of Benjamin putting him over this week and suggested a rematch in the future.
Reed re-tweeted the post and tagged Shawn Michaels, who oversees WWE NXT. The RAW Superstar told WWE's Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative that he needs to know about Knight.
"Ayo @ShawnMichaels ... you need to know about @tommyknight1995," Bronson Reed wrote.
Michaels has not publicly responded to Reed as of this writing, but many fans have co-signed the endorsement. Benjamin, who was released from World Wrestling Entertainment last September, did indicate that he's up for a rematch with Knight.
