Bully Ray reveals why it could be "disastrous" for 22-year-old WWE star to join main roster
WWE legend Bubby Ray Dudley (Bully Ray) recently explained why it could be "disastrous" to call up a 22-year-old star to the main roster. The veteran served as the Special Guest Referee for the Philadelphia Street Fight at WrestleMania XL earlier this year.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, the WWE Hall of Famer explained why bringing Roxanne Perez to the main roster could be an issue. He stated that there needs to be a plan in place for the current NXT Women's Champion before the company makes that decision. He added that it wouldn't hurt for Perez to stay in NXT for a while longer.
"As far as Roxanne Perez moving on [to the main roster], I don't know ... Unless there is a definitive plan, it can be disastrous. Sometimes you only get that one shot to make that first impression on the main roster ... Do I think she's ready? I don't think it's going to hurt her to hang out in 'NXT' for a little bit longer. I would rather see her sit there, continue to get comfortable in the ring, to improve in her psychology, her promos, her character," he said. [H/T: Wrestling Inc]
Bully Ray comments on Randy Orton showing up on WWE RAW last week
Former WWE star Bully Ray was not a fan of Randy Orton showing up on RAW last Monday night because he was on the SmackDown roster.
Gunther defeated The Viper to win the King of the Ring tournament and went on to become World Heavyweight Champion last weekend at SummerSlam. However, the finish to the King of the Ring tournament was controversial, and Gunther accepted Orton's challenge for a title match at Bash in Berlin on August 31.
During a recent edition of Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray noted that the promotion was not sticking to the rosters selected in the WWE Draft.
"Everything you said was legitimate as far as what has happened in the past, but I still don't know how Randy Orton was just allowed to show up on RAW without it being because, and once again they [WWE] are not sticking to the Draft." [From 01:11 to 01:47]
