Cassie Lee fka Peyton Royce reveals original name WWE planned for The IIconics

Former WWE Superstar Peyton Royce had a great run in the Stamford-based promotion from 2015 to 2021. Later wrestling under the ring name Cassie Lee, the 31-year-old made a name for herself in TNA Wrestling as well. Interestingly, she recently revealed the details of the original name the Stamford-based company had planned for her tag team, The IIconics.

While speaking with Ring The Belle, Lee noted that The IIconics was coined after the management ran into some problems with trademarking. She and her partner, Billie Kay, were labeled an iconic duo in NXT which later became their official name as well. However, the technical issues with the naming led them to find an alternative solution.

"I think it couldn't be trademarked cause it was just a regular phrase, so they're like you've got to come up with something new and so we were going to come up with something completely different away from that, and then we're like, 'No, like, this is who we are and this is you know, what we've put all our work and energy into creating the Iconic duo so let's try and like make it work, so that's where The IIconics came from,'" Peyton Royce said. It remains to be seen whether The IIconics will ever return to WWE in the future.

Nathan Frazer predicts the end of former WWE Tag Team Champions

Nathan Frazer and Axiom recently regained the NXT Tag Team Championship after dropping it to Ridge Holland and Andre Chase earlier. Now, Fraxiom will be facing former WWE Tag Team Champions Austin Theory and Grayson Waller. Triple H has teased numerous times that A-Town Down Under would split soon.

Now, Frazer has predicted that the team of Theory and Waller would split after losing their title shot against him and Axiom just like several other teams by sharing a picture on his official X/Twitter handle.

Check out his tweet below:

Frazer's tweet came as a reaction to a post by WWE announcing their match on October 8, 2024, after NXT's move to the CW Network. While Waller has given Theory many reasons to leave him, the latter still has his feet planted alongside the Australian star. It would be interesting to see how long Austin holds on before he eventually turns against Waller.
