Cathy Kelley names two WWE stars she can’t wait to see on the main roster: "It is an absolute tie for me"
WWE has been creating some of the biggest names in sports entertainment through its remarkable developmental program. Cathy Kelley believes two current WWE stars have the potential to become breakout stars on the main roster. The two stars are none other than Cora Jade and NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez.
Cathay Kelley has interviewed numerous wrestlers in her time with the company. She has watched the action up close and knows what the business is about.
Speaking on the B4theBell podcast, the interviewer named the two NXT stars she believes will have a lot of success on the main roster. Both Jade and Perez were influenced by AJ Lee and CM Punk through their early years and have been mentored by Punk at NXT. They surely know a thing or two about the business at a young age. They have also proven their worth with their impressive performances in NXT.
"I would say it is an absolute tie for me between Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade," Cathy Kelley said.
Kelley added that WWE had a great women’s roster across all three brands. This helped the creative team book some big matches.
"We really are just so lucky to have [an] amazingly talented group of women," Kelley added. [H/T - WrestlingInc.]
Cora Jade and Roxanne Perez are still working in NXT and will likely be called up to the main roster soon. Many believe Perez could get the call-up soon after her current championship reign comes to an end.
Cathy Kelley wants former NXT star to become the inaugural WWE Women’s United States Champion
Cathy Kelley is good friends with many female wrestlers in the company. During her appearance on the B4theBell podcast, she was asked about who she wanted to see as the inaugural Women’s United States Champion.
Kelley stated that Chelsea Green would be a good pick to become the inaugural champion. The former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion is doing extremely well in her current run with Piper Niven.
"I'm gonna say Chelsea Green because I think she's gonna be mad at me if I don't," Kelley joked.
Fans will have to wait a little longer to see who wins the brand-new title. It’s a good move by the company to introduce a secondary title for the women on the main roster.
