Chad Gable manifested what he told WWE legend two decades ago

Chad Gable has become a household name in WWE, with the company's Chief Content Officer Paul "Triple H" Levesque openly admitting how much he values the tag team specialist. At this point, it seems only a matter of time before Gable inevitably wins his first singles title.

Looking back at his career in the Stamford-based promotion in the last decade, one thing Chad Gable feels fortunate about is that he got to step into the ring opposite WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle.

Both he and Angle have been compared by industry veterans and fans alike over the years. These days Gable even gets the "You S*ck" chant from the live crowd in attendance. Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Chad Gable reminded fans that they had a singles match on the March 18 episode of RAW in 2019:

"When some dream matches come up and people are like, Kurt vs. Gable, I'm like, 'Well, it happened.' Unfortunately it was a little later on in his career," Chad Gable on his match against Kurt Angle.

Chad Gable admits it would have been even better if it was during Kurt Angle's prime but at the end of the day, he got to wrestle one of his idols. He then recounted his first meeting with the Hall of Famer circa 2000:

"We're up the road from Mall of America a few miles and I met Kurt there when I was 13 or 14 and he signed my 'It's True' VHS tape that came out from WWF back then. [...] Met Kurt, shook his hand, and I said, 'Someday I'm going to be in WWE and I'm going to wrestle you.' That is a true story," Chad Gable recalled. [From 23:26 to 24:36]

Last month, Chad Gable revealed to Cheap Heat's Peter Rosenberg that Randy Orton had come up to him to inform him that he is no longer the 'next Kurt Angle' and that he had made it. Gable added he considers it one of the highest compliments.

Chad Gable on his comparisons to WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle

Chad Gable is best known for having great matches every time he steps foot inside the squared circle, something Kurt Angle was praised for. Gable loves how fans draw positive comparisons between him and Angle:

"I mean, what an honor. First of all, it's so funny when that stuff started coming out because I'm like, oh, here we go, now we're cooking [...] And it just worked out really well. But all that to say like Kurt is the man dude, he's been so cool throughout everything we've done with him. I got to wrestle him, which was insane," Gable said.

The 38-year-old WWE Superstar has now formed a new faction dubbed American Made on the flagship show by recruiting The Creed Brothers. Ivy Nile is the latest addition. He is also currently feuding with the Wyatt Sicks and, his former stable Alpha Academy.
