Chances of Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes III at WrestleMania 41, veteran weighs in

For two years straight, Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes headlined WWE WrestleMania. They are now set to team up for the first time at Bad Blood due to circumstances. Dave Meltzer explored the chances of them completing a trilogy on The Grandest Stage Of Them All in 2025.

WrestleMania 41 is scheduled to emanate from Paradise, Nevada, over Easter weekend. WWE has presented Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as The American Nightmare's possible opponent at the event. However, if Johnson's schedule does not allow for him to return on time, Meltzer feels that the company can go back to Reigns vs. Rhodes.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, the veteran journalist touched upon how the company views The Tribal Chief, drawing comparisons to the legendary Bruno Sammartino. While Meltzer feels that Reigns and Rhodes does not need to face each other at WrestleMania again, he added that it is still a "money" match:

"A Roman/Cody match is still a giant match. It's not a WrestleMania match," Meltzer explained. "I got the sense that they want Roman Reigns to be the Bruno [Sammartino]...You don't really put Bruno against [Bob] Backlund if Cody is the Backlund. They could team but there is money in a Cody/Roman match." [H/T: Wrestling Inc.]

Dave Meltzer believes Roman Reigns will work the next three WWE Premium Live Events

While WWE has already announced Roman Reigns' in-ring return after his loss on the grand stage in April 2024, it is not clear where the company is heading with The OTC's issues with The Bloodline.

Dave Meltzer noted that Reigns will work at Crown Jewel after Bad Blood. As usual, Saudi Arabia is hosting the event. Then there is Survivor Series: WarGames, in Vancouver, for which the former Undisputed WWE Champion is advertised:

"Roman is probably working the Saudi Arabia show, he's definitely working [Bad Blood] and he's working Survivor Series because he's already being advertised for that," Meltzer said.

At Bad Blood, Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns will wrestle on the same side against Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu, who was cited recently as the company's next big uber-babyface. The show will emanate from The American Nightmare's home state of Georgia.
