Charlotte Flair references WWE persona in intriguing update ahead of SmackDown
WWE Superstar Charlotte Flair shared an interesting update ahead of tonight's episode of SmackDown. Tonight will be the final episode of the blue brand on Fox before the brand makes the switch to the USA Network next Friday night.
Ahead of tonight's show, Flair shared a cryptic tease on social media. She followed it up with another message on her official X account (formerly known as Twitter) before this week's episode of SmackDown. The veteran referenced her WWE character and hinted that she had been missed on the blue brand.
"Yeah, you look good, but they still wanna know where Charlotte’s at—," she wrote.
Charlotte Flair has not yet competed in a match in 2024 due to injury. The 14-time world champion tore her ACL, MCL, and meniscus in a singles match against Damage CTRL's Asuka on the December 8, 2023, episode of WWE SmackDown.
Former WWE Women's Champion comments on Charlotte Flair's injury
SmackDown star Bayley recently discussed Charlotte Flair's injury and noted that she understood what she was going through.
Bayley lost the WWE Women's Championship to Nia Jax at SummerSlam last month in Ohio. The Role Model returned from a brief hiatus last Friday night to confront Tiffany Stratton. The Buff Barbie attempted to get involved in the Street Fight between Michin and Nia Jax, but Bayley returned during the bout and chased the Women's Money in the Bank winner through the crowd. However, Nia Jax was still able to pick up the victory and retain her title.
Speaking with Sportskeeda Wrestling's Bill Apter in an exclusive interview earlier this year, the former leader of Damage CTRL discussed Charlotte Flair's major injury. She noted the inopportune timing of the injury and how bad it was to miss WrestleMania, and was excited about her return to the ring.
"I hate seeing people get hurt and injured and taken out, especially during this time of the year, and miss WrestleMania. Charlotte, I've known for so long. I had her first match ever, so I was just in that position [injured] a couple of years ago and I know how hard it is. I'm excited to have her back, and I know she's itching for it," said Bayley.
