Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks, and Becky Lynch moving to the WWE roster left a gaping hole, explains 40-year-old star: "I was still down there"

Among The Four Horsewomen of WWE, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, and Sasha Banks, now known as Mercedes Mone, were called up to the main roster very early in their careers. However, Bayley was then featured as the top woman on NXT alongside Asuka.

While The Role Model was called up late, her run in NXT defined her entire career, being one of the greatest women to ever step foot in the squared circle.

WWE Women's Champion Nia Jax recently appeared in an interview with Cathy Kelley when she addressed Bayley's main event run in NXT a few years ago. In her interview, Jax addressed how Asuka and The Role Model made a name for themselves by being in the NXT Women's Championship picture when the others were called up. The Irresistible Force added that she wanted to be Bayley at that point in time, making headlines as the top woman of NXT.

"I'll never forget the NXT TakeOver we had in London…And yeah, I wanted to be Bayley, you know, I will say it, I've lost to her more than I've ever beaten her. There was competition to drive to be the top girl down at NXT," Nia Jax said. [0:31 - 1:05]

Jax went on:

"I was still down there with Bayley when Charlotte (Flair) and Sasha (Banks) and Becky (Lynch) got called up. The next one to step up, you're sitting here, like, you wanted to be the next one. And Bayley and Asuka were up there in the title picture, and I was gunning for them, I wanted to get that title. Didn't really get there, but look at me now." [1:06 - 1:21]
