Charlotte Flair takes huge step towards imminent WWE return

WWE Universe has patiently waited for the return of Charlotte Flair for more than one year now. The multi-time champion began training for her comeback right after surgery. Flair has just caused a stir among fans by revealing a major sign of her pending return.

The Queen has been on the shelf since suffering a torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus during her SmackDown loss to Asuka on December 8, 2023. After undergoing surgery a few weeks later, the early word on Flair's return was that she would be out for nine months. The 38-year-old began training as soon as she was able, and she's kept fans updated on her progress.

Flair is now back to training at the WWE Performance Center. The 17-time champion took to Instagram today and shared an in-ring photo from Orlando with NXT Superstar Lainey Reid. Charlotte thanked the 26-year-old for helping her get back to ring shape and then gave her a big endorsement. She also attached Alicia Keys' "Girl On Fire" single as the story theme song.

"Thank you @lainey_wwe for all your hard work & helping me get back in shape [smiling face with star eyes emoji] [smiling face with sunglasses emoji] [crown emoji x 2] Yall keep your eyes out for this ONE [sparkles emoji] [diamond emoji] [sparkles emoji]," Charlotte Flair wrote with the photo below.

Flair is already a future Hall of Famer. The Queen is a six-time and inaugural WWE (RAW) Women's Champion, a seven-time SmackDown Women's Champion, a one-time and the final Divas Champion, a two-time NXT Women's Champion, and a one-time Women's Tag Team Champion.

Charlotte Flair reportedly signed a historic WWE contract

Charlotte Flair signed a World Wrestling Entertainment developmental contract in May 2012, and has been on the main roster since July 2015. The daughter of Ric Flair has made her name and is one of the top superstars.

Shortly after Flair went on an injury hiatus, confirmation dropped on her historic new contract. The extension is apparently worth several years and is one of the highest-paid contracts to a woman in company history. Charlotte also reportedly received a new travel bus with the deal, which is a perk that is becoming more common among top talents.

Madusa had mentioned on her podcast that she heard Charlotte signed a new five-year multi-million dollar deal. Word from backstage was that it took a while for Flair's new contract extension, the first of the TKO era, to make the rounds among other people, but the veteran's details could not be confirmed.
