Charlotte Flair teases major rematch with former WWE rival following SummerSlam 2024
WWE Superstar Charlotte Flair has seemingly teased a match with a former rival following SummerSlam. The premium live event aired live from Cleveland Browns Stadium last night.
Charlotte Flair and Trish Stratus were rivals back in the day. The two stars battled at SummerSlam 2019 with Flair picking up the victory. Stratus served as the host of Money in the Bank last month and her episode of Biography: WWE Legends will be airing tonight on the A&E Network.
The promotion shared a clip of Flair praising Stratus during the episode and claimed the Hall of Famer was one of the greats in WWE. The Queen reposted the clip and shared an image from her bout against the Hall of Famer at SummerSlam 2019 to potentially tease another match down the line.
"The Queen and the Legend," she wrote.
Flair has not competed in a match since the December 8, 2023 episode of SmackDown. She suffered a torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus in a singles match against Damage CTRL's Asuka. The Empress of Tomorrow has also suffered a knee injury and has been out of action since WWE Backlash in May.
Bill Apter believes Charlotte Flair's WWE return could be an issue for SmackDown star
Wrestling veteran Bill Apter recently suggested that Charlotte Flair's return to the company could be an issue for Tiffany Stratton.
The 25-year-old won the Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match last month to earn a future title match. Speaking on Sportskeead's The Wrestling Time Machine podcast, Apter wondered if Charlotte Flair's return could get in the way of Stratton's success on SmackDown.
"She did because she is the... Nothing wrong with any of the other ladies. I think Chelsea was very close, but in terms of marketing and viable for a match against one of the champions, it's gotta be her. She looked tremendous. She has got that athletic background. My question is, I don't know when this is gonna happen, but the woman's division has changed so much. What's gonna happen in your opinion when Charlotte Flair clicks that button and says, 'I am ready to come back,'" Apter said. [From 01:57 onwards]

Tiffany Stratton recently stated that she would like to face Flair in the main event of WWE WrestleMania 41. Only time will tell when Flair will be cleared to return to the ring.
