Chelsea Green breaks character to endorse the future of WWE
WWE has a bright future when it comes to talent. This is evident in the strong developmental system at the Performance Center and NXT. Chelsea Green is no stranger to the system and has just broken character to send a major endorsement.
The Princess Of Pain came to World Wrestling Entertainment with several years of in-ring experience and then polished her skills at NXT and the Performance Center. Green returned to the company in 2023 and has been a strong presence in the women's division ever since.
Green finished up with NXT in May 2020 but returned for title matches in October 2023 and this past May, where she came up short against Women's Champion Roxanne Perez. She is familiar with at least two NXT women's division talents: Kelani Jordan and Lash Legend.
Green spent time with The Boujee Bully and the inaugural NXT Women's North American Champion at the SummerSlam tryouts in Cleveland this past weekend. Despite tagging the wrong account for Jordan, Green took to X today to endorse the NXT Superstars and comment on the future.
"[blue heart emoji] [white heart emoji] The future of @WWE is in good hands. [@kelani_wwe] @lashlegendwwe @WWENXT," Chelsea Green wrote with the photo below.
Legend worked a Performance Center tryout in December 2019, then signed one year later. The former WNBA player is a member of NXT's Meta-Four faction with Noam Dar, Oro Mensah, and Jakara Jackson. Jordan participated in the SummerSlam 2022 tryouts and signed days later. The former Michigan State gymnast became the inaugural NXT Women's North American Champion in June.
Kelani Jordan defends at WWE Great American Bash
Kelani Jordan has retained the NXT Women's North American Championship for the third time. The inaugural champion retained over Tatum Paxley in 10 minutes on Tuesday's Great American Bash special.
Jordan took to X today to show respect to Paxley while cementing her own legacy. The 25-year-old also shared photos from the match.
"Third successful title defense in the books [checkmark emoji] So much respect to my opponent @TatumPaxley! Easily one of the most talented girls on the roster. However, tonight was my night to continue creating the legacy as the FIRST NXT Women’s North American Champion! [white heart emoji] [fist emoji] [crown emoji] #NXTGAB2024," Kelani Jordan wrote with the photos below.
Jordan defeated Paxley with a Spanish Fly and Frogsplash. After the match, Wendy Choo attacked Paxley and stared the champion down. Jordan has now had televised title defenses over Michin, Sol Ruca, and Paxley.
