Chelsea Green breaks character; sends an emotional message after 28-year-old gets released from WWE

Chelsea Green is one of the most over stars in WWE. While the SmackDown star often keeps the kayfabe alive as a part of her character work, even she ended up breaking character following Indi Hartwell's release from the company.

Indi Hartwell's five-year tenure with WWE came to an end yesterday as the Australian star was released from her contract along with Tegan Nox. Aside from the duo, Baron Corbin also departed the company after the expiry of his contract.

Love and support have been flowing in for Hartwell since the news of her departure came to light. Chelsea Green, who is known for her on-screen mean behavior, also took to X (fka Twitter) to send an emotional message to the 28-year-old.

"I know @indi_hartwell‘s future is full of opportunities and success but it still hurts to hear the news. I’ll miss you at work, Sam!! I’m counting down the days, 90 to be exact, until you take over the world."

Chelsea Green was also released from WWE in 2021

Chelsea Green has been in Indi Hartwell's shoes before as the SmackDown star was released from her contract in 2021. However, Green made a name for herself around different wrestling promotions before returning to the global juggernaut in 2023.

Chelsea is widely regarded as one of Triple H's best rehires. The Hot Mess has taken her career to a whole different level since returning to WWE.

Chelsea will be in action at Crown Jewel tonight where she and Piper Niven will challenge for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship. Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill will put their titles on the line against three other teams in a Fatal Four-Way match. The other teams in the match are IYO SKY and Kairi Sane of Damage CTRL and Jakara Jackson and Lash Legend of Meta Four.
