Bill Apter claims WWE is hesitant to put a major title on Chelsea Green
Legendary wrestling journalist Bill Apter recently suggested that the company could be hesitant to have Chelsea Green capture a major championship.
During this past Friday's show, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis revealed the Women's United States Championship. Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Smack Talk, Apter noted that Green would be in his top five picks to win the title.
However, the veteran added that the 33-year-old might not be at a level where the company would want to put a title on her.
"She'd [Chelsea Green] probably be in my first five choices. I'm still gonna stick with Jade. It still could be Bianca." He continued, "I think Chelsea is great. She's terrific and all that. But I don't think she's at the level where they're gonna put a belt on her." [From 10:35 onwards]

Chelsea Green and Piper Niven had an impressive reign as Women's Tag Team Champions in 2023. Green has not won a singles title during her time on the main roster so far. It will be fascinating to see what the company has planned for the Women's United States Championship in the weeks ahead.
