Chelsea Green issues statement on WWE and AEW snub against her husband
WWE features many confrontational superstars, but Chelsea Green may be viewed by many as the most outspoken. The multi-time champion is known to get involved in various social media storyline exchanges, while also breaking character to back up her colleagues in various real-life situations. Following accusations of a snub by WWE and AEW, Green issued a statement to defend her husband.
Matt Cardona signed his WWE developmental contract on February 24, 2006, and remained with the company for 5,165 days until his release on April 15, 2020. Cardona's success has continued with numerous promotions: TNA, GCW, NWA, MLW, several indie companies, and even AEW. The industry's self-proclaimed Indie God was named Pro Wrestling Illustrated's Indie Wrestler of the Year for 2022 and 2023. The free agent mainly works for TNA and GCW now.
The former Zack Ryder of WWE is being snubbed by All Elite Wrestling and World Wrestling Entertainment, according to loyal fans on social media. The three-time Slammy Award winner recently expressed shock at the lack of offers from either company.
Cardona thought his work since 2020 would set him up for the long term, and couldn't understand why that was not the case. Matt's wife took to X to respond to coverage of his recent media interview comments. Green was clear and concise in her prediction for Cardona's career.
"In the end, he will land where he's meant to land because he is the most talented & creative man I know," Chelsea Green wrote.
The former Long Island Iced-Z wants to end his career with the Stamford-based promotion and wants to sign with a top company. However, when previously asked why he hasn't signed with TNA, the 20-year veteran said he doesn't want to sign a contract just to sign one and didn't want to ink a deal just so he can be on a roster.
Matt Cardona vs. former WWE champion in title match
Amid rumors of a potential return to RAW or SmackDown, Matt Cardona is hoping to become a double champion for TNA at Bound For Glory later this month. The 20th annual Bound For Glory pay-per-view is scheduled for Saturday, October 26, at Wayne State Fieldhouse in Detroit.
The wrestler known as Zack Ryder in World Wrestling Entertainment will challenge three-time WWE Tag Team Champion PCO at Bound For Glory in a big Monster's Ball match. The Digital Media Championship will be on the line, along with the International Heavyweight Wrestling Championship.
Bound For Glory is rumored to feature several NXT Superstars as the working relationship between the two promotions continues, as seen above. The main event will be NXT part-timer Joe Hendry challenging TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth, fka Dolph Ziggler.
