Chelsea Green lashes out at WWE partner following historic SNME win

WWE just witnessed the return of Saturday Night's Main Event. The primetime special saw Chelsea Green make wrestling history in a major way, and her celebration has continued into today. However, in typical Chelsea fashion, she has just lashed out in response to another accolade from a longtime WWE partner.

The Hot Mess of World Wrestling Entertainment became the inaugural Women's United States Champion at WWE SNME XXXVII. She defeated Michin in the eight-minute tournament final, thanks to Piper Niven. Green previously held the Women's Tag Team Championship on one occasion, but the big win last night marks her first-ever singles championship in WWE.

The USA Network often interacts with RAW and SmackDown content on social media. The company's longtime partner took to X (fka Twitter) today to name Chelsea the Superstar of the Week for her win at Saturday Night's Main Event.

"This week's Superstar of the Week is none other than the FIRST-EVER WWE Women's United States Champion, @ImChelseaGreen! Congratulations, Chelsea! #smackdown," the USA Network wrote.

Green quickly responded, revealing that she was not happy with the accolade. The SmackDown Superstar lashed out in all caps, wondering why she wasn't named Superstar of the Year instead.

"WHY AM I NOT SUPERSTAR OF THE YEAR?!??" Chelsea Green wrote.

USA Network responded and said just one "thank you" would be nice from the new champ and promised to get back to Green on the Superstar of the Year title.

Triple H praises Chelsea Green at WWE SNME

Chelsea Green made wrestling history at Saturday Night's Main Event by defeating Michin to become the inaugural Women's United States Champion. Green was presented with the title after the match by Nick Aldis.

Triple H is among the many people who have congratulated Green on social media. World Wrestling Entertainment's Chief Content Officer took to X to praise the 33-year-old for her work. He included one of his signature backstage photos.

"Every opportunity - big or small - has led to this moment. @ImChelseaGreen ... you've earned it. #AndNew," Triple H wrote with the photo below.

Green's journey to the title began with a first-round Triple Threat win over Bianca Belair and Blair Davenport. She defeated Bayley in the semi-final on Friday's SmackDown, then beat Michin at SNME. The former Mia Yim won her opening-round qualifier over Lash Legend and Piper Niven, then defeated Tiffany Stratton in the semi-final.
