Chelsea Green pays subtle tribute to WWE star last seen 1742 days ago during Saturday Night's Main Event

WWE Superstar Chelsea Green has subtly paid tribute to a popular name during Saturday Night's Main Event. Green's husband Matt Cardona (fka Zack Ryder) was last seen on the Stamford-based promotion's television in 2020.

Cardona signed with World Wrestling Entertainment in 2006 and started performing for the company's then-developmental territory, Deep South Wrestling. After getting called up to the main roster, the 39-year-old made a huge name for himself and went on to win several titles, including the Intercontinental Championship and the United States Championship.

However, he was last seen on WWE TV on the March 9, 2020 edition of RAW, where he locked horns with Bobby Lashley in a losing effort. The star was later released from the promotion. Meanwhile, Matt Cardona's wife, Chelsea Green has become a fan favorite in the Stamford-based promotion.

On the latest edition of SmackDown, Green defeated Bayley to qualify for the finals of the Women's United States Championship tournament. At Saturday Night's Main Event, The Hot Mess locked horns with Michin. However, during the bout, Chelsea paid subtle tribute to her husband as she wore similar pants to the ones former Zack Ryder used to wear while in WWE.
