Chelsea Green says she wants to see 4-time WWE champion return to the roster (Exclusive)
While the WWE roster is quite stacked at the moment, changes are always high with stars being released and brought back. According to Chelsea Green, a particular ex-WWE name's return would be quite desirable.
The name in question is Matt Cardona, previously known as Zack Ryder during his time in the Stamford-based promotion. While Cardona won the tag team title twice and the United States and Intercontinental Titles once each in WWE, his popularity never really pulled him out of the mid-card. He was released from the brand in 2020, ending his 15-year tenure with the company.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Emily Mae for Sportskeeda Wrestling, Chelsea Green stated that she would love to see her husband Matt Cardona return.
"I don't know if I would work with him, but let's put a pin in that one, I am not sure. But I would obviously love to see him back. I mean ideally I would love to see him and Steph [De Lander] back together to do the GCW shtick. But you know, I would take him as my mix tag partner if I needed to." [0:37 onwards]
When asked about who she would consider teaming up with right now, she responded:
"I mean really anyone. 'Cause we don't really discriminate. We will take on girls. We'll take on guys, it doesn't need to be a mix tag team." [1:02 onwards]
Matt Cardona has also teased returning to WWE
While Chelsea Green's words show she is hoping to see Matt Cardona back in the Stamford-based promotion someday, The Indy God himself has hinted at playing a role at Money in the Bank.
Cardona has often used social media to tease his future moves, and this was no exception. When a fan speculated about interferences during Money in the Bank, Matt Cardona added to the list by stating that he would help Chelsea Green.
"Me helping Chelsea Green," Cardona wrote.
As of now, only time will tell if Matt Cardona will indeed be playing a pivotal role at the upcoming WWE PLE.
