WWE News: Chris Hero fuels rumours on WWE return
Independent wrestling standout and former WWE performer Chris Hero has recently been the subject of intense rumours regarding a return to the biggest pro wrestling company in the world.
The latest episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio saw Dave Meltzer state that Hero and WWE were in the early stages of attempting to ink a deal, and the Superstar formerly known as Kassius Ohno himself has finally addressed the rumours.
This past Friday, Hero was wrestling at PWG’s Mystery Vortex event, teaming up with JT Dunn to take on Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly of reDRagon.

Hero and Dunn, collectively known as Death By Elbow, came up short against the former ROH Tag Team Champions, but after the match, Hero took to the microphone to clear some of the fog surrounding his future in professional wrestling.
Hero stated that he doesn’t know where he stands at the moment regarding a move back to WWE, but as soon as details cleared up, he promised to tweet out to keep his fans informed of his move.
Hero gave hope to the PWG faithful, however, stating that it may not be the last time that they saw him in a PWG ring.

Meltzer went further in the episode of WOR, reporting that the deal could very well fall through but that would be somewhat unlikely.
More interestingly, Meltzer said that he wasn’t entirely sure what role Hero would have in WWE, whether he would return to the ring as an active talent or whether he’d be in a training role at the WWE Performance Center instead.
Hero is as professional as they come in the wrestling world and will be immensely valuable in whatever role he is offered. Here’s a video of a match between Chris Hero and former WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes:
Hero and WWE parted ways for the first time back in November 2013, after a frustrating time for Hero in the formative stages of the new NXT.
Ohno was one of the early standouts, but rumours of WWE not being happy with his weight followed him everywhere. Since returning to the independent circuit, Hero has cemented his position as one of the top pro wrestlers in the world, building a body of work that is as varied as it is impressive.
The Ohio native has been a star performer in PWG, AIW, EVOLVE and a whole lot of other promotions, and if his return to WWE comes to fruition, the independent scene will be missing one of its most influential performers.
