Chris Sabin issues defiant response after unhinged ultimatum sent to top WWE Superstar

Competition on the WWE SmackDown brand has been heating up as we get closer to WrestleMania 41 Season. Chris Sabin and longtime partner Alex Shelley rocked the company when they debuted and won championship gold in no time, and now the longtime grapplers are serving the locker room as veterans. Sabin has just issued an important update after another top superstar was issued an ultimatum by a longtime friend.

DIY has been understandably frustrated. Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano dethroned A-Town Down Under of the WWE Tag Team Championship in July, only to lose the straps 28 days later to The Bloodline. The Motor City Machine Guns then made their surprise WWE debuts and won the titles in their second week. Ciampa and Gargano have tangled with Sabin and Shelley since then, with Ciampa becoming increasingly unhappy with Gargano's friendship with The Guns.

Blackheart confronted Johnny Wrestling backstage on Friday's SmackDown and essentially issued his longtime partner an ultimatum: it's either DIY or MCMG. Sabin took to X this week to respond to Ciampa, touting how successful he and Shelley have been. The 42-year-old also offered advice to Gargano.

"I guess showing up out of no where, winning the WWE tag team championships in our 3rd match and proving we are one of the greatest tag teams of all time seems to have ruffled some feathers. Choose MCMG, Johnny," Chris Sabin wrote.

The Motor City Machine Guns remain undefeated in the Stamford-based company. They debuted with a tournament win over A-Town Down Under and Los Garza. Sabin and Shelley defeated DIY in the tournament finals and quickly defeated The Bloodline for the titles. Since then, MCMG has won a non-title match over A-Town Down Under and wrestled The Street Profits to a No-Contest.

A rumored WWE Tag Team Championship match is in the works

A Triple Threat for the WWE Tag Team Championship is being teased for The Motor City Machine Guns' next title defense. This would be the second defense for Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin after they defended a No Contest against The Street Profits.

The Guns, DIY, and The Profits have tangled over the titles, leading to Tommaso Ciampa attacking Montez Ford during last month's title match. Ford defeated Ciampa, but Ciampa pulled a post-match sneak attack until Angelo Dawkins made the save.

Johnny Gargano pulled Dawkins off Ciampa, then pulled Ciampa off Dawkins. Ciampa then yelled at Gargano, which led to the ultimatum issued last week.

It's believed that Sabin and Shelley will defend in a Triple Threat against Ciampa, Gargano, Ford, and Dawkins. The match could take place at Saturday Night's Main Event on December 14, if not an upcoming SmackDown episode.
