"Chris Sabin has no personality" - WWE legend says Alex Shelley must cut promos for the Motor City Machine Guns (Exclusive)
Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley could not have asked for a better beginning in WWE. The Motor City Machine Guns are already tag team champions, but Dutch Mantell still believed the duties of cutting promos needed to lie with Shelley.
After wrestling around the world for years and amassing an enviable number of tag team titles, MCMG debuted in WWE recently and became tag team champions in only their third match.
A win over The Bloodline instantly legitimized the Motor City Machine Guns, and Dutch Mantell was glad to see the duo in WWE. Dutch has known Shelley and Sabin for a long time, as they worked together in TNA, and stated that the tag team stars were phenomenal workers.
Mantell, however, wasn't convinced by Chris Sabin's on-screen charisma and recalled how Alex Shelley was more suited for the microphone responsibilities.
Mantell explained:
"I had them in TNA; I was with them in TNA. Great athletes and great workers. But Chris Sabin has no personality, really, as a speaker. And it's all down to Alex Shelley. Now, Alex Shelley, if you just listen to him, he is funny as hell, and he has a connection with the people." [From 54:00 onwards]
The Motor City Machine Guns had a backstage face-off with A-Town Down Under on the latest episode of SmackDown. Shelley and Sabin will appear on the Grayson Waller Effect on next week's show, and it would be the perfect opportunity for the tag team champs to showcase their personalities to the WWE Universe.
