CM Punk was the best choice to join The OG Bloodline at Survivor Series, claims WWE analyst

WWE personality and analyst Sam Roberts recently discussed CM Punk joining The OG Bloodline for WarGames. The RAW Superstar showed up on SmackDown this past Friday to fight alongside the group.

Paul Heyman was a major factor behind Punk joining the Reigns-led Bloodline. The Wiseman leveraged his relationship with the former WWE Champion and got him to help The Head of the Table and his entourage.

This week on the Notsam Wrestling podcast, Roberts detailed that Punk was the best choice for The OG Bloodline. He mentioned that the Straightedge Star had no personal grievances with the faction, and they never cost him a title opportunity. The analyst explained that Punk agreed to participate in the contest not for Roman Reigns or The Bloodline, but because of his ties with Paul Heyman.

"It makes perfect sense that CM Punk is with this team. CM Punk has no personal vendetta against The [OG] Bloodline. He has no reason to say I will not help them because of what they did to me. Kevin Owens can say that, Randy Orton can say that, Seth Rollins can say that, LA Knight can say that. CM Punk wasn't wronged by The [OG] Bloodline at all. (...) But why would he help them? I don't think Punk is helping The Bloodline. I think Punk is helping Paul Heyman." [9:28 - 10:08]

CM Punk predicted that he would cross paths with Roman Reigns

Long before Punk joined The OG Bloodline for WarGames, he cut a promo saying he would eventually come face-to-face with Roman Reigns.

Reigns was the Undisputed WWE Champion at the time heading into WrestleMania XL season. Punk congratulated The Head of the Table on his title reign and even mentioned he was the OG Paul Heyman guy.

It will be interesting to see whether Punk and Reigns can set aside their differences and work together at Survivor Series to take down Bloodline 2.0.
