CM Punk claims major WWE Superstar is a "gem"
CM Punk referred to a major WWE Superstar as a "gem" today on social media. Punk delivered an ominous promo this past Monday night on WWE RAW following his victory over the weekend.
The Second City Saint defeated Drew McIntyre in an intense Hell in a Cell match this past Saturday night and noted that he would be going away for a while during his promo on RAW.
Rhea Ripley celebrated her 28th birthday today, and CM Punk took to his Instagram story to send a message to the former Women's World Champion. CM Punk noted that Ripley was a gem in his birthday message, and you can check out the post by clicking here.
"Happy birthday to this gem @rhearipley_wwe," he wrote.
Rhea Ripley was also in action at Bad Blood in a Women's World Championship match against Liv Morgan. Raquel Rodriguez interfered and attacked Ripley to end the match via disqualification.
Jim Cornette comments on what WWE should do with CM Punk and Drew McIntyre following Bad Blood
Wrestling legend Jim Cornette recently shared his thoughts on what the promotion should do following the Hell in a Cell match between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre at Bad Blood.
Speaking on the Jim Cornette Experience, Cornette stated that he didn't think McIntyre and Punk could continue their rivalry following the Hell in a Cell match. He noted that the two stars still hate each other, but there was nowhere else to go with the rivalry.
"I don't honestly know that you can do anything else with them, with each other right now. And it wouldn't hurt for one, or maybe both, to be off, selling the injuries for a while. (...) If one of them is off for a few weeks so that the other one could get involved in another thing with another person, and then that person comes back later on and gets involved with somebody else, it's not as obvious a split, right, 'cause they still hate each other," said Cornette.
The veteran added that the two stars will likely move on to other opponents moving forward.
"If you were thinking logically, why would Drew want to quit now, but the answer is that somebody else attracts his eye or Punk gets involved with somebody else. It's a graceful exit." (13:00-14:13)
